Job Summary
The Clinical Dietitian II is responsible for the provision of clinical nutrition services to residents of the Dr. Albert O'Mahony Memorial Manor / Protective Care Community Residence. This includes providing expertise in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of resident nutritional care. The Clinical Dietitian II liaises with Food Services personnel in the provision of therapeutic menu planning and other areas that impact resident nutrition care. The Clinical Dietitian II assists in the development and implementation of nutrition standards of care, policies and protocols, and participates as an active member of the interdisciplinary site team in the delivery of resident-focused care. Clinical nutrition duties may change based on operational requirements. In support of Eastern Health's Dietetic Internship Program, the incumbent will be required to preceptor Dietetic Interns.

This position reports to the Regional Manager of Allied Health - Peninsulas and maintains accountability to the Professional Practice Consultant for Dietitians for integrity and professional practice issues.

Occasionally lifts objects up to 25 lbs.
Regularly requires alertness to the health and safety of others (i.e. tube fed patients, clients with swallowing issues, etc. Advice provided to clients impacts the health and safety of a client in regard to reactions to food allergies or blood glucose levels).
Regularly there are time pressures and deadlines and often there is lack of control over work pace.
Regularly requires a high level of attentiveness for exact results and precision for renal calculations, tube feeding and calculating nutrition prescriptions.

Job Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or equivalent from a DC-accredited university program and successful completion of an accredited dietetic internship program is required.
Current Registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Dietitians is required.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team would be considered an asset.
Conditions of employment include the use of a private vehicle.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
