Job Summary
This position will function as a key member of the Public Health Program to work with other members of the Influenza Campaign Team to provide influenza immunizations to the general public. While clients will have a wide age range, the incumbent should be comfortable immunizing children. These immunizations will be delivered through flu clinics scheduled throughout the Burin Peninsula. This position will require flexible working hours based on the flu clinic schedules.

Job Demands

Regularly requires physical exertion and handling, moving, pushing or pulling objects between 10 - 15 lbs. and occasionally required to support, lift or move patients/objects up to 30 lbs.
Required to sit for extended periods of time.
Constantly performs repetitive fine motor skills for mass immunization clinics.

Job Qualifications
Successful completion of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing program.
Current licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CLPNNL).
Current BLS certification is required.
Must have completed or be willing to complete the Immunization module for LPN's and be familiar with the management of anaphylaxis in a non-hospital setting.
Must have completed or be willing to complete the LEAP module on Influenza.
Completing Influenza immunization as part of the Peer Immunizer program would be an asset.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships.
Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently.
A valid class 5 driver's license and use of a private vehicle is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
