Job Summary
This position is responsible for the general administration/oversight of the Health Connect Population Based Cancer Screening Information system within the NLCCR to include development of reports, processing data requests, quality assurance monitoring, edits to on-going functional and data elements etc. They are responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of the cancer screening database and for the technical quality of the work produced. They ensure the accuracy of clinical data and information used within cancer screening, and the availability of quality information for activities such as planning for service delivery, evaluation, and outcome measurements. The manager will evaluate comprehensive clinical data as it relates to cancer screening programs; develop and implement data collection and evaluation protocols/strategies as it relates to current and future cancer screening programs (lung cancer screening and high-risk cancer screening); work with database operational support partners and vendors to communicate and manage database operational issues and troubleshoot problems as well as create and maintain data management-related documents (e.g. business continuity plan)

The Quality Assurance and Data Manager will collaborate with the Provincial Cancer Care Clinical Epidemiologist and data management peers within the Cancer Care Program to develop and prepare Cancer Screening data requests and exporting reports. They will write and edit cancer screening specific Data Management Plan, maintain data management documentation related to cancer screening programs and act as a liaison with key stakeholders as relates to data management. Stakeholders may include Canadian Partnership Against Cancer (CPAC), provincial and national partners in cancer screening and committees accountable to the Provincial Cancer Care Program leadership. This role maintains a program of personal professional development to ensure an up-to-date level of expertise and to recognize the evolving nature of the profession as well as participates in on-going operational and administrative requirements as relates to the NL Cancer Care Registry.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor degree in a Health related discipline is required.

Minimum of 3 years of experience within the last 5 years in the development of quality assurance processes and data quality management, and experience working with health information databases is required.
Previous leadership experience is preferred.
