Job Summary
The Program Manager is part of the Management Team for the Mental Health and Addictions Program, Community Division of Eastern Health. This management role will be accountable for providing leadership, management and direction in Mental Health & Addictions community programming which will include the Centre City Team and the Day Treatment Program, as well as, the implementation of a new FACT team. As well, with the Province's Toward Recovery Plan and the redesign of Mental Health and Addictions services, the role will evolve, and include working closely with the redesign of Community Services for MHA clients. As part of the management team, this position is responsible for contributing to strategic directions of the Mental Health and Addictions Program.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a health related discipline is required.
Master's degree preferred.

Five (5) years' experience within the last seven (7) in acute or community health care, and considerable management experience is required.
Recent experience in Mental Health and Addictions is preferred.
The candidate should have experience in human resources, financial, change management and quality initiatives.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Knowledge of performance management and techniques for monitoring and reporting.
High level of interpersonal and leadership skills in order to establish and maintain positive working relationships within the service area.
Manage budgets and utilize funds allocated in accordance with prescribed policies and guidelines.
Planning, including participation in the development, implementation and evaluation of Program key directions, objectives and strategies.
Human Resource Management, including continuing education and performance review.
Manage continuous improvement and quality processes.
Manage change through leading, motivation and empowering staff within the right area.
Work independently and autonomously is required.

Current registration with relevant professional association and/or licensing body.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
Conditions of employment include the use of a private vehicle.
