Job Summary
The Registered Nurse IID (Provincial SANE Coordinator) will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the standardization of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) services across the province. The Provincial SANE Coordinator will be responsible for conducting a provincial needs assessment, developing and implementing standardized SANE policies and procedures, facilitating and standardizing SANE training across all geographical zones, and leading the continuing education and mentorship of SANE nursing staff. The Provincial SANE Coordinator will also be responsible for quality assurance and compliance to ensure that recommended medical-forensic examination protocols are met. Other related duties as required. Provincial travel will be required to facilitate training courses throughout the province.

Constantly moves/lifts up to 10 lbs., regularly moves/lifts up to 25 lbs. and occasionally is required to restrain/reposition/move/lift up to 30 lbs. Pushes/pulls up to medium force.
Occasionally lifts/moves educational materials and supplies up to 25 lbs.
Requires constant sitting to complete computer tasks, counsel families, perform some clinical procedures, demonstrate equipment handling and to document information. Occasional walking or standing may also be required
Job Qualifications
Graduation from an approved/recognized post-secondary nursing education program with a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is required.
Masters degree is preferred.
Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required.
Current and continuing certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (Adult/Adolescent) (SANE-A) with the International Association of Forensic Nursing (IAFN) is required.
Minimum of five years of experience within the last seven years working as a SANE - trained Nurse in forensic nursing is required.
Current BLS Certification is required.
Advanced clinical knowledge in forensic nursing.
Strong knowledge in policy development, program development and research.
Knowledge of change management and continuous quality improvement concepts.
Demonstrated competency in working with computers and related software, such as the Microsoft Suite of products.
Demonstrated strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and teach others.
Demonstrated strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy and organization.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, effective written and oral communication skills, and the ability to deliver effective presentations.
Evidence of active involvement or willingness to participate in continuing professional education development.
Membership in professional organizations/special interest groups is an asset.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
