Western Health currently requires a Manager of Patient Services on a permanent full-time basis at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital (STRH) in Stephenville. The manager is accountable for the management of clinical department areas. Also, assigned units are subject to change based on ongoing initiatives or changing priorities.
This position reports to the Director of Patient Services at STRH and will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the staff in these areas to promote excellence in patient care. The successful incumbent will demonstrate the ability to coordinate, integrate, and facilitate the provision of care services, manage resources effectively, direct and lead the care team, as well as plan and direct change effectively. The incumbent will need to balance patient care requirements with the available resources to promote the best possible outcomes. To achieve this goal the manager oversees personnel, services, growth, and fiscal responsibilities.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the key skills, behaviours, abilities and knowledge as outlined in the five domains of the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: The candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in a Health related discipline and proof of registration and licensure with good standing as a health professional is required. Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years clinical experience in a related health discipline. Previous management or leadership experience would be an asset.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a collaborative leadership style, strong communication and interpersonal skills, team building, program planning, critical thinking, effective problem solving, decision making skills and an ability to lead teams and work effectively within an interdisciplinary team environment. The ability to work independently is an asset.
In the event no suitable candidate is found with the required qualifications, other levels of experience and training may be considered for this position. Consideration may be given to applicants who do not currently possess a Bachelor's Degree, provided they are willing to complete same within five years of appointment to the position. In this case, the successful applicant must be prepared to demonstrate proof of registration/enrollment to an appropriate degree program within the first year of appointment to the position. Furthermore, the successful applicant is required to provide annual updates based on the progress of each semester of the program.
*A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance are required.
Hours of Work: 70 Hours per pay period
0800-1600 or 0830-1630 hours; Monday to Friday
