Job Summary
The position is responsible for maintaining appointment systems for electronic medical records in Cancer Care, currently using ARIA and Meditech; coordinating and scheduling patient appointments and procedures including clinics, chemotherapy and radiation therapy, often involving interdisciplinary and multi-appointments; scanning/transcribing accurate information into the electronic medical record; updating patient demographics; transcribing physician orders for multidisciplinary clinics; providing reception; answering, screening, and directing inquiries; preparing charts; conducting telephone and new patient administrative triage; performing general clerical work; providing back-up relief, as required; and performing other related duties.

Regularly required to lift objects less than 10 lbs, and occasionally weighing 10 to 25 lbs.
Opportunity to occasionally stand and walk within the office environment.
Occasionally required to bend and stretch to retrieve and return files.
Visual concentration is required to transcribe; enter information into an electronic document control system; and to type and format text and schedule appointments.
Job Qualifications
Successful completion of a one-year Office Administration program from an approved/recognized college is required.
Successful completion of an approved/recognized medical terminology course is required.
Proficiency in ARIA and Meditech is preferred.
Ability to contribute to a welcoming culture for patients and their families/care givers.
Ability to ensure accuracy in documentation in electronic medical records.
Ability to work in a fast-paced multisensory environment.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
*Proof of a current office administration program and medical terminology is required. To be considered current, they must have been completed within the last five years, unless it has been used in recent positions. This must be demonstrated on the application form.
** If medical terminology isn't current, a medical terminology test may be administered by the Human Resources Client Services Department.
